Felix Dennis, Oz Magazine

Felix Dennis, legendary magazine publisher who got his start publishing the underground icon Oz, was interviewed by the BBC in 1978.

After Oz, Dennis’s company Dennis Publishing pioneered hobbyist and computer magazine publishing in the UK. He grew up poor in Surrey, and by the ‘90s he was publishing the world’s biggest-selling men’s lifestyle magazine (Maxim) as well as top news magazine The Week.

In 2006 he wrote a best-seller on how he became wealthy in ‘How to Get Rich’, which includes anecdotes on his addiction to crack and an admission to spending over $100M on drugs and women. In 2007 he sold his US magazine operation for a reported $250M.
