Boston Common, 1967

David Silver questions people at a love-in in Boston, 1967, and then in his studio where someone (I’m not positive who) rocks a True Light Beavers jersey. The True Light Beavers published an epic hippie cookbook I posted about a few months back.

From ‘What’s Happening, Mr. Silver?,’ which aired on WGBH in Boston from 1967 to 1969. Silver was a Shakespeare professor at Tufts University from East Lancashire, England, who teamed up with WGBH director Fred Barzyk to make the now-legendary psychedelic TV show. They relished the feedback they’d get from viewers after each airing, including a call from one woman who complained the cuts were too quick and the show was giving her brain cancer.
