David Silver visits an unnamed head shop in Beacon Hill, Boston in 1968. Silver’s local TV show, ‘What’s Happening, Mr. Silver?’, was like a psychedelic fever dream of a “television magazine,” which sometimes asked viewers to use two TVs tuned to two different channels to watch Silver provide commentary on his own interviews. In the ‘80s he wrote the film ‘Mondo New York’ (1987), which was re-released by NightFlight.
The location of the head shop became Helen’s Leather Shop in 1969, which is still there.
