Huckleberry House for runaway and homeless youth (“The children with windy feet,” as the book says) was founded during the Summer of Love at 1 Broderick in Haight-Ashbury. It’s still going at the corner of Page and Lyon and is the oldest such program in the country. This chronicle is from 1969.
